NairoBits courses seek to promote positive formation of self; positive relationships; healthy habits; good communication skills; and, positive attitudes and behavior. By so doing, these courses address health related problems; school and college dropout rates; crime and deviant behavior; abuse and exploitation; limited participation and lack of opportunities. The training uses sports and recreation as an entry point through which to engage youth around the main issues of concern.
Therefore to address these pertinent issues of life and soft skills, the first quarter FGD and educational excursion will this time take place at the Rowallan National Scouts camping and training center in Ngong on the 24th of March 2012. Generally we aim to achieve certain programatic abjectives as listed below:
- The FGD will take students away from their normal learning environment where they will be able to interact with other students.
- Sports and recreation will be used as an entry point through which to engage youth in the main issues of concern
- They (youth) will also take the opportunity to share their experiences from business clubs formed
Lastly under EU every quarter we are required to sensitize students on policies that affect them. Thus, the forum will be used to sensitize them on democracy, right to vote, importance of voting and the need to enhance peace.
